Calling all student change makers! We’re looking for students who are passionate about making a difference and creating change. Youth who believe that cyber-bullying sucks and who want to do something about it.

The BullyStop Challenge

The BullyStop Hackathon challenges participants to discuss, brainstorm, sketch, and design solutions in the form of iOS apps. Groups of youth will work alongside experts in tech, education, and law enforcement to develop a solution that can help eliminate cyberbullying. This creative hackathon requires no coding experience!

The Canadian Safe School Network presents: The BullyStop Hackathon, sponsored by Lighthouse Labs and TELUS WISE. A full day interactive and creative event inviting enthusiastic high school and university students to discuss social media and help put an end to cyberbullying by designing iOS apps. Groups of high school youth will work with post-secondary student mentors and alongside experts in tech, education, and law enforcement to brainstorm, sketch, and design solutions, that can help eliminate cyberbullying. No coding experience necessary! Teams will work to come up with a great idea, then find an exciting way to pitch it to the rest of the room. Drawings, skits, ads are all encouraged! One winning team will be selected and receive an awesome prize! All ideas are eligible to be developed into real apps by CSSN.

High school students will receive a full day of volunteer hours and a certificate of completion.

BullyStop is being held in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Halifax. Each event is entirely FREE for students and is proudly presented by the Canadian Safe School Network and Lighthouse Labs, and sponsored by Telus Wise.
